Democracy in Sweden is Dead

Today the Swedish Parliament democratically voted to end democracy. From now on we live in a Big Brother society, far worse than that of the former Eastern Block or the USA of today.

The national security agency, FRA (Försvarets Radioanstalt, translates roughly to Radio Agency of the Defensive Forces) are now allowed to wiretap all phone calls and all Internet communications.

All communications will be screened in real time according to automatic criteria. All of it... which of course means that the strategies and plans of opposing parties will be openly available to the party in power... media sources will no longer be able to be anonymous, which leads to people being afraid of revealing news, especially if it's sencitive to the government and so on and on and on...

Here are some thoughts from other sources:
The Department of Justice called the bill “completely alien to our form of government”.

The Police Board said that the bill “indicates a frightening lack of understanding for the requirements regarding the protection of citizens’ privacy that follow from our Constitution and the European Convention on Human Rights”.

The National Registry Authority says that this bill “is compatible with neither the Swedish Constitution nor the European Convention on Human Rights. Such an immense expansion of wiretapping of telephony and other forms of communication cannot be legislated under any circumstance.”

...but apparently it could and was.

Now all we can hope for is a Robin Hood sniper taking out every single fucker who voted yes to this bill.
