Dan Deacon is better than Hitler
Last night we went to see Dan Deacon play at Sala Rosa, in Montreal. All photos by Andreas Sundgren, as I was bright enough to bring my cam but no memory card... yay!
Definitly the best show I've been to in years. It was so much fun my cheeks were hurting afterwards from smiling like an idiot all night.
Everything about this man is genius. His looks, his clothes, the music, the show, everything is just so fucking perfect! Standing on the dance floor, with his back to the audience, telling people to get up on stage if they want to see better, he controls the crowd completly...
...turs the show into a mass psychosis, getting us to do anything he wants.
And he wants us to form a square and have a dance off...
And later to form a gauntlet and for everyone to run through...
It was like a drunken birthday bash for a 5 year old. Pure genius!

really annoying to see a title like this "better then hitler" when you are also against torturing and other humanity crimes..
read it again in the context:

obviocity, if you thought for about 2 seconds you'd probably agree that most people are better than Hitler. No?
oh obviocity, I am against crimes against humanity but I am for humor. I am even for twisted humor... and yes, if you think about it, actually even if you don't think about it, most people are better than Hitler. In fact I can't really think of any who aren't... so saying that Dan is better than him isn't really saying anything special at all.
However, Hitler obviously had a real talent for manipulating people... I mean, he got them to do some pretty nasty things most people can't imagine themselves doing... Dan does this too but instead of slaughtering 6 000 000 people, he got 500 to behave like children and loving it.
...in other words, chill.
"better than.." implies that one thing is good and the other thing is "more good", you could have chosen any other thing worst then dan to describe that he is better (like stepping on dog shit) but you chose hitler, good for dan that you compare him with hitler, doesn't really say anything special about him at all.
Besides all of the crybaby's about the title of this blog...
I live in baltimore and see Dan Deacon perform all of the time in run down warehouses along with the wham city crew. I feel very lucky right now to be living in Baltimore city with everything that is going on here!
