Nuart at Rogaland Art Museum

Last week I was in Stavanger, Norway, to be part of Nuart. This is a event on both gallery and street walls. The gallery was Rogaland Art Museum and the show was opened by the Mayor of Stavanger. How crazy is that?

My contribution to the show was Daydream of the Faceless Worker. It's an idea I've had for a long time that I finally had time and space to realize.

The inspiration is obviously the anonymity, monotony and idiocity of the office environment...

The character is about 6 meters tall and drawn with markers. The wings span maybe 14 meters wide and are made up of 4000 post-it notes, roughly 400 of which had poetry written on them. I think I banged the wall about 12000 times putting them all up. Numbers numbers numbers.

Word to Mother at work...

D*Face making a peace symbol out of big brand logos.

Eine working on a sort of scrabble looking piece.

It was great to see M-City buliding up his world.

Here's his sketch...

I really like his work.

Logan working hard. The big piece is the same as we did a collaboration on at our show in LA last year, or was it the beginning of this? I have no concept of time anymore... we've had shows together in four continents now!

This piece by Hera and Akut was probably my favourite in the show.

The texture of the wall made it look very much like a huge canvas.

Nick Walker working on his cityscape.

I have never seen anyone spend as much time as Blek le Rat perfecting a one layer stencil. The result was well worth it though.

Rene Gagnon working on his piece which wrapped around the wall over to the other side.

Dolk made a painting of the Norwegian princess... the one that sees ghosts and fairies...

Aerofish turned his wall into a collaboration with M-City...

Here's Logans finished wall, well before the big clean up of the floor anyway...

Another favourite from this show is the work of Slinkachu.

His scenes with little people are just awesome.

Mir worked more or less until they shut the lights off the night before the opening. He had another piece planned for the wall but opted to do this one instead. I really like it, unfortunately I don't have a good picture of the whole thing, so you'll just have to find it elsewhere. Sorry!

Pöbel made a selfportrait, well sort of... as the Norwegian version of a hillbilly. To the right is D*Face's finished piece.

Eine's words words and more words... with Blek's David to the left.

I really like this one too, the finished piece by Word to Mother. The drips and colours are so nice...

D*Face's beach ball getting inflated... ok, it's not a beach ball but I would love to float around on it...

Rene also made these cans. I was gonna steal one but forgot to in the end. Damn.

M-City made a version of his piece on the streets as well, for all those who never goes to a gallery... which probably means 95% of the citizens of Stavanger.

I've been a fan of Charles Crafts work ever since I first saw it...

Hera's outdoors peice...

Here's the Mayor holding the opening zzzzpeach.

We all also made some art to put in a number of boxes. The boxes are sold on the Nuart site, I think. All profits goes to charity. I drew blood.

I made 10, signed, dated and numbered.

I love Mir's T.

Holy shit, I really need to work harder, so I can get my ass down to one of these shows.

These are pretty much stuff that kids of the future are going to study about in their history class... and make it the coolest subject ever! ;)
